Tutorial is Live

The uniNews tutorial (both the video and text versions) are now up and working here.

You can watch the video through YouTube, download it to watch on your iPod, or watch the higher quality flash version.

Lets us know what you think!

Submit to Facebook & Myspace

Another quick update.

You can now submit individual stories on uniNews to either Facebook or MySpace.

Under a story, click on “Add this link to…”, you will then be shown a bunch of icons where you can submit and share the story to. The first icon will display a popup and allow you to share the story on Facebook with your friends. The second icon allows you to submit a Bulletin to your friends on MySpace letting them know of the awesome link/story you found.

And of course there are the other usual social sites to which you can submit/share a story.

Invite Friends Feature

Hey

Quick feature update. We just added the ability to invite friends to uniNews either by manually entering their emails or by automatically importing your contacts from Hotmail, Yahoo, Gmail, and more.

The latter is very easy to do. Simply choose your email provider (Hotmail etc), then enter your email address and password. Your contacts are automatically displayed. Select those you want to send an invite to and click “Send Email to Contacts”. They will receive a quick pre-written message notifying them of uniNews. We don’t store any of your details, so it’s safe.

You can also send a message about uniNews to your Facebook or MySpace friends!

Enjoy :)

We need your feedback

Not “want”… “NEED”.

The only way we can workout what you guys, the community, want from uniNews is if you tell us!

Hate something? Love something? Got an idea? Something not working? Want a new feature?

Please, pretty please let us know by filling out our quick survey: Send Us Your Feedback

And if at any time you have a suggestion, comment or question… don’t hesitate to contact us. We have an open-door policy in regards to any feedback you may have and we will carefully consider every response.

Look, a blog!

Woohoo, the first post for the official uniNews Blog!

If you’re not yet familiar with uniNews I suggest you head on over and take a quick look: www.uniNews.com.au

Also be sure to checkout the flash Tutorial which will give you a quick understanding of how the site works. And if you can spare a few minutes it would be bloody awesome if you could fill out a quick feedback survey so we know what you think about the site and can workout what things that need to be done.

Now the blog isn’t as ‘pretty’ as I’d like it to be because I’m hosting it free with WordPress.com so there are restrictions. But the advantage is that if uniNews happens to be flooded with traffic and my poor shared-hosting account goes under, I can keep everyone informed from here.

So stay tuned, subscribe to the RSS feed and get ready to ride the wave :)
